NIT Srinagar is the oldest REC/NIT in the Country. NIT Srinagar is on the path to achieving excellence in  Teaching and Research. For this purpose Government of India has sanctioned a 100 Crore Package under PMDP to establish the latest facilities for Research and Consultancy. Besides sufficient funds have been provided for improving students facility centres in the institute and hostels also.

I pleased to inform all that NIT Srinagar has established a high-end Central Research Facility Centre for UG/PG & Research Scholar of the region and particular NIT Srinagar.

NIT Srinagar has also established a research facility under TEQIP-III in various Engineering Departments. these include Environment Sustanitbilty Laboratory, Sputter Coating, Nano-Sputter Coating System and Latest Texture Machine.
