- The laboratory also contains basic items such as quality inspection tools and few sample manufactured parts (pins, shafts, buttons etc) as obtained from a production line, in order to carry industrial Engineering activities/experiments pertaining to basic understanding of techniques in Industrial engineering and operations management such as Statistical Quality control, Inventory control, work study, Line balancing etc. These items are used to carry experiments and lab. activities in order to expose Mechanical engineering students to an industrial environment where they have to perform tasks and techniques of I.E. to understand the concepts of increase in productivity, cost reduction, effective and efficient utilization of resources and human factor engineering. The infrastructure is being built-up to cater to the diversified academic requirements of B.Tech and M.Tech students in Industrial engineering.
- The SPSS software's is also installed for performing statistical analyses and data management activities on various fronts. Such softwares are presently prevalent in industries for assisting the management in data handling.
The Witness simulation software is in the pipeline and is expected to be installed soon.
