Motivational Talk “Engineering Happiness: Secrets of Mental Fitness for Successful Life” 

A webinar was organized by the Department of Physics in association with Counselling Cell, NIT Srinagar on “Engineering Happiness: Secrets of Mental Fitness for Successful Life” by Dr. Arun Bhardwaj, Founder & Chief Mentor | Happiness Technology on 22 September 2020.

Honrable Director Prof. Rakesh Sehgal said that the impacts of the Covid-19 outbreak are not just physical but also psychological, social, and financial and emphasized that the topic of today’s webinar is a remedy to lower down the stress level. Further, he said that everyone experiences stress and copes with it differently and said the online courses would help people deal with mental and health issues amid the pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arun Bhardwaj pointed out that anxiety across the globe is at an all-time high with a pandemic that has brought fear and uncertainty to all. He also pointed out that the classes teach us how to do the job, but not how to enjoy the job? Further, he added that happiness is the ultimate motivation for all human actions.

He explained Engineering Happiness: Secrets of Mental Fitness for Successful Life in a practical way that helps in fostering an environment for a happier life. He concluded his talk by saying that when we are happy we are at our best. He delivered his lecture in a very engaging manner and everyone enjoyed the presentation.

The participants had a very healthy interaction with the speaker. A total of 732 participants registered for the webinar. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Vijay Kr Sharma and attended by students, social workers, government functionaries, and academicians.

 

-Motivational Talk series:-EMIT Talks-I

On 21st November 2020, The Counselling Cell of the Institute has initiated a Talk Series titled “EMIT”, an acronym for “Entrepreneurs, Motivators, Innovators, Technocrats”, who will be the invitee for these talks. The first invitee of the talk was Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Arora from Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Roorkee. 


The maiden session was inaugurated by the Director, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal. He expressed his delight at the inauguration of this event and stressed the need for such talks to keep the students motivated and enthusiastic.

The speaker, Prof. Navneet Arora, focused on the 7 steps to excel and succeed viz. Setting goals, Valuing Time, Loving the work, Decision-making, Self-control, Humility, and having faith in oneself. The informative talk came to an end with an interactive Question answer session.
