Workshop Classes: Central Workshop initiated its role of transforming students to engineers capable of thinking, developing, designing and executing new ideas and has already achieved brilliant feat and considerable success. Central Workshop undertakes Workshop Practices (WSP) classes common to all branches of the first year students of the institute.
Training Classes: In addition to the conduction of workshop classes, Central Workshop also provides practical Hands-on to the students of the other Technical Insitutes of the valley like University of Kashmir (North Campus), GCET Safapora, Central University etc as well.
Research Fabrication and Manufacturing: Central workshop provides infrastructure and service to the faculty members/research scholars to fabricate experimental set-up for research purposes and helping the UG/PG students in designing their B.Tech/M.Tech projects.
Transport Section: Apart from academic activities, Central Workshop also looks after the Transport Section of the Institute. At present CWS has a number of vehicles in its arsenal which are used for various activities of the Institute. Currently, CWS posesses number of LMV's, SUV's and HMV's like Toyota Fortuner, Innova, Scorpio, Ambassador, Mini Truck and 32-Seater Buses used for both official and academic purposes. In addition to these, CWS also has two Ambulances and another fully equipped ambulance in-transit used for various medical emergencies of the Students, Faculty, and other employees alike.
